Hey there! It's Me!

Hey there! It's Me!

I hope you didn't forget this blog exists, considering it's been inactive since May 2022.

I suppose I should give some updates!

I traveled a lot in 2022. I made roughly 12 trips to Oklahoma, a trip to Michigan, a visit to Georgia, a weekend getaway in Kentucky, and two trips to the United Kingdom. On top of that, I had work and family responsibilities that kept me very busy.

I am still the weekend meteorologist for KMOV. I've been in my position for about a year and a half. I've covered historic snow storms, historic flooding, tornado, and all forms of severe weather. I've probably gotten less sleep this last year and a half than at any other point in my life. I seem to take on more work and life responsibilities, making it difficult to juggle everything. Despite all of that, I am the happiest I have ever been! I love my job and the ever-changing work hours. I love that my immediate family is growing and that I have new nieces, nephews, and in-laws now that more of my siblings are getting married. I love that I am traveling more than ever!

Long story short, 2022 was a busy year! Unfortunately, this caused my blog to take the back burner. I also think that in many ways, I was facing some burnout. I wasn't facing burnout due to work, but more just burnout from writing. I was writing so much for my job (articles and forecast discussions etc.) that my brain wasn't working creatively for my own personal recreational writing.

Now, after nearly a year's hiatus, I'm ready to dive back into it. I want to make my blog a priority once again.

I'm not sure how the blog will look going forward. I know I want to revamp it, so expect some experimentation with future posts and different forms of content. If you have tips, you know where the contact form is! I can't guarantee a reply but do know I read and appreciate the feedback. Probably 9/10 I will apply the feedback or suggestions in some way.

We're a quarter of the way through 2023, and I'm ready to take on the rest of the year by storm.
